Featured testimonial
from the 2008 NASA TTB SoCal champion
Checkout our featured testimonial for this
month's newsletter, submitted by Sean Bradley, a competitor in
the National Autosport Association (NASA) Time Trial TTB series
in Southern California:

"APR
Performance...Expert engineering of race tested aerodynamic
parts. We're using the GTC-200 wing and front splitter to help
keep the car planted at speeds in excess of 100mph. Tuned with
the suspension, it gives us greater flexibility with the car's
setup. Tony has been a great resource, especially with the
aerodynamic calculations in the planning stages."

"New aerodynamic additions
to the car came from APR Performance: the GTC-200 wing and a
front splitter. These parts are made of lightweight carbon fiber
and are beautifully constructed. But more importantly they are
highly functional parts backed by APR's investment in R&D. Tuned
perfectly to the car's suspension, we were able to find more low
speed rotation balanced with high speed stability. This gave us
the winning edge we needed. Front-end lift was reduced and the
rear was planted at speed. The results were impressive and
significant. APR was fantastic with supporting their products
(thanks Tony). I recommend APR to anyone looking to fine-tune
the handling of their car and/or are looking for well engineered
aerodynamic parts."
"The car was fantastic
this weekend. It's always been excellent, but this weekend it
was just incredible to drive. It carved through the corners
effortlessly. It would pick up car lengths in exit speed on the
competition. I couldn't be happier with the performance."
"Thanks again!"

APR carbon / Nomex honeycomb
composite splitters
In our previous
newsletter, we talked a bit about the manufacturing of our
race-proven carbon / Nomex honeycomb composite splitter product.
As a follow-up, we'd like to remind everyone that countless
racers have benefited dramatically from this high-strength and
lightweight aerodynamic tuning device.
Aerodynamic balance
is key. Don't let a huge rear wing turn your
racing machine into an unwieldy, under-steering pig. Use a
front wind splitter in conjunction with that rear wing to help
achieve that critical balance between your vehicle's front and
rear downforce levels.
Here are some pictures of
custom applications that APR has done recently (and not so
recently):

Attack series)

(JIC/Hankook Tire Porsche GT2, previously competed in the
Formula Drift series)

(2008 Dodge Viper, track machine)
APR is able to custom-build a splitter for
your specific vehicle too!

All-new
Corvette C6 Z06 Carbon Side Splitters / Rocker Extensions
APR is proud to announce
the release of the all-new Corvette C6 Z06 Carbon Side Splitters
/ Rocker Extensions.
This lightweight part is manufactured in pre-pregnated "dry"
carbon fiber composite material. Not only does this give the Z06
a more finished appearance, side splitters (sometimes called
side skirts, rocker extensions, etc.) are also a valuable
component in tuning the aerodynamics of a race/performance
vehicle.

Think of this as an
air-management device. At high speeds, a large volume of air
travels along the sides of the vehicle. Without this side
splitter, some of this air is allowed to "roll" underneath the
rocker panels. This ends up affecting the underbody airflow -
this is not a good thing. We want to keep the underbody airflow
as smooth as possible, and make sure to keep extraneous amounts
of air (such as air from the sides of the vehicle) from entering
the underbody area.

The APR Corvette C6 Z06
Carbon Side Splitter package comes as a 4 pc. kit, including
rear wheel well extensions for a seamless look.
