What is an Airfoil (a.k.a. "wing") An airfoil is a body (such as an airplane wing or helicopter blade) designed to provide a desired reaction force when in motion relative to the surrounding air. In race cars, airfoils are used to provide maximum downforce so the tires can have maximum grip.

What is a Splitter Front splitters are essential aerodynamic components that serve to balance the front vs. rear distribution of downforce. They are effective when they are mounted close to ground level, and when they extend beyond the bottom of the front bumper.
